Annually, 300,000 to 450,000 tons of grass, often from road verges and natural areas owned by government agencies, are composted in the Netherlands. This process causes negative environmental effects with the release of CO2, hydrogen, and methane. A more sustainable approach is the anaerobic digestion of grass. GR4SS converts these grass residues into biomethane, high-quality peat substitutes for potting soil, liquid CO2 and green fertilizer.
GR4SS turns verge grass and vegetable residues into the 4 following products
GR4SS is a consortium of several companies all with their own specialisations in the chain from verge grass to biomethane and potting soil. GR4SS also has several partners. These are companies and governments that supply grass to GR4SS and purchase biomethane. Also want to become a partner of GR4SS? Contact us.
